Kaisaido is the name that Saiko Shihan Toshio Tamano gave to the system he has carried and refined for over fifty-five years. It is not a new style — it is the full expression of what was always implicit in the Okinawan tradition: a path that unites the body, the breath, and the mind in a single practice.
The character 解 (kai) means to unlock, to understand, to resolve. The character 道 (do) means path, way. Kaisaido is the path of understanding — through discipline, through repetition, through the body.
