Taiso
Movement for a long life.
What it is · 達磨体操
Breathe, move and find calm. Unhurried, at any age.
Daruma Taiso is the school’s health exercise system. Its roots lie in the tradition attributed to Bodhidharma, the monk who, it is said, joined meditation with care for the body. In 1977 Saiko Shihan Tamano organised it into a system of more than 300 exercises.

What it works on
Four simple things.
-
Breathing
Slow and conscious, it accompanies every movement.
-
Mobility
Joints and muscles awake, from toes to head, with no impact.
-
Balance
Stability and control of the body, standing, kneeling or on the floor.
-
Calm
An unhurried rhythm that settles the mind and leaves the day outside.
«It is never too late to move well again.»
Who it is for
For anyone
Children, adults and older people, whether or not they practise martial arts. No equipment, little space and no starting fitness required.
